The University of Arizona Cancer Center* is designated by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) as a Comprehensive Cancer Center. This designation, the NCI’s highest, is reserved for centers focusing on patient care, research, prevention, education, outreach and training.

Multidisciplinary patient-care teams include internationally-renowned medical, hematological, radiation and surgical oncologists as well as nurse practitioners, nurse coordinators, research specialists, psychiatrists, social workers, patient advocates, nutritionists, pharmacists and genetic counselors. Hematology oncology services are provided in Building 1 and radiation oncology services are provided in Building 2. 

We are happy to announce that The University of Arizona Cancer Center, a Department of Banner – University Medical Center Tucson, has been named one of the six highest performing cancer surgical intervention facilities in Arizona for 2023-2024 by US News and World Report. The University of Arizona Cancer Center is the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in the state. The annual U.S. News Best Hospitals ranking is designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive quality care for challenging health conditions or elective procedures.
