What to Expect

We know dealing with a hormone or metabolic condition can be stressful. That’s why we work hard to make your endocrinology visit as simple and supportive as possible. Our care team combines medical expertise with compassion - and we’re here to listen, guide and support you every step of the way.

You are part of your care team

At Banner Health, we believe the best care happens when you're actively involved. We’ll work closely with you to explain your condition and treatment options in a way that’s easy to understand. When you know what’s happening and why, you can make confident decisions about your care.

What to expect at your first appointment

Your first visit with an endocrinologist is similar to a regular doctor’s appointment, but with a focus on your hormone and gland health.

  • You may be referred for lab work or imaging tests to help with diagnosis
  • You’ll have a chance to ask questions and share any concerns

If you’ve already had labs or tests done, bring your results or records with you.

What happens after a diagnosis

If you’re diagnosed with a condition affecting your endocrine system - such as diabetes, thyroid disease or a hormonal imbalance - your endocrinologist will work with you to create a personalized treatment plan.

This may include:

We’re here to help you not just manage your condition but understand it—so you can take an active role in your long-term health.
