Dr. Matthew Malone serves as the medical director of the Toole Family Memory Center at Banner Alzheimer’s Institute in Tucson, Arizona, where he proudly leads a dedicated clinical and research team that fully embraces the mission of setting a new national standard for comprehensive patient and family care.
He oversees impactful interdisciplinary clinical, research and educational services at Southern Arizona’s only regional center of excellence in Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s/Lewy Body diseases and related cognitive and movement disorders.
Dr. Malone is a geriatric psychiatrist and educator specializing in Alzheimer’s and related dementias care and clinical trials. He completed his medicine internship at the Medical College of Wisconsin, psychiatry residency at the Hennepin-Regions program in Minneapolis, and geriatric psychiatry fellowship at Yale University. Dr. Malone is board certified in psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry and hospice and palliative medicine, and received his MBA from the University of Arizona.
He previously held several leadership roles, including as chief medical officer of a nationally recognized senior care organization, and helped launch an institutional Special Needs Plan focused on people living in long-term care.
