Our PGY-1 Pharmacy residency will provide a structured educational experience while allowing flexibility to meet resident's needs.
Banner Health’s PGY1 Community-based Pharmacy Residency Program provides comprehensive clinical training in a variety of advanced practice settings. The resident will be based out of Banner Family Pharmacy– Specialty Care (Banner Support Services building) in Chandler, Arizona where the resident will communicate with health care members and patients telephonically. Located at the Banner Family Pharmacy at Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center, residents in the oncology learning experience will provide in-person counseling on specialty drug therapies and round with physicians. The transplant learning experience is based at the Banner Family Pharmacy in Banner – University Medical Institutes in central Phoenix, where residents will also provide in-person counseling and work alongside physicians, nurses, and medical assistants to provide first-class patient care. The staffing learning experience is based out of the Banner University Medical Center Phoenix (BUMCP) Banner Family Pharmacy, located in central Phoenix inside the main hospital building, where residents will work alongside pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in a high-volume outpatient community environment. The ambulatory care medication management learning experience is based out of the BUMCP Family Medicine Clinic where the resident will work alongside PGY2 residents and medical residents for a collaborative ambulatory care learning experience.
