COVID-19 Vaccine & Boosters

At Banner Health, we follow evidence-based guidance to help protect our patients and communities.

Who should get the COVID vaccine

We recommend that everyone 6 months of age and older receive the 2025–2026 COVID-19 vaccine after a shared decision-making conversation with a health care provider.

Staying up to date on vaccination lowers your risk of severe illness, hospitalization and death.

Access to COVID-19 vaccines

COVID-19 vaccines are widely available through:

Wherever you live, vaccines are offered without a prescription for most age groups, making it easier to stay protected.

Our commitment is to deliver safe, effective and personalized care that supports the health and well-being of every community we serve.

After a COVID-19 infection

Even if you’ve had COVID-19, vaccination is still recommended. Getting vaccinated after infection helps boost and extend your protection.

  • You should wait until you are no longer contagious and your symptoms have improved before getting vaccinated.
  • Many people may choose to delay their next vaccine dose for up to 3 months after symptoms started (or after a positive test if you had no symptoms).
  • If you are at higher risk for severe illness, you and your health care provider may decide it’s best not to delay vaccination.

COVID-19 and flu vaccines

It is safe to receive your annual flu vaccine at the same time as your COVID-19 vaccine or booster.
